New Delhi: More than 1.5 lakh challans were given till October 15 this year to vehicle proprietors driving without contamination taken care of declarations (PUCC), Delhi Traffic Police said today.
As per information shared by traffic police, a sum of 1,58,762 challans were given till October 15 this year, which is 50,662 a greater number of than the quantity of challans gave during a similar period last year.
During the period from January 1 to October 15, 52,388 challans were given in 2021 and 1,08,100 out of 2022.
This year, the most extreme number of challans were given in Daryaganj circle (6,306), trailed by Sarita Vihar (6,254), Rajouri Nursery (5,595), Shahdara (5,442) and Tilak Nagar (5,252), the information showed.
Traffic police gave a large portion of the challans to bike riders (69,190), trailed by bike riders (49,219), vehicle drivers (33,754) and autorickshaw drivers (1,556).
A sum of 81,246 challans were given in 2019, 69,199 out of 2020, 1,04,369 of every 2021 and 1,31,799 out of 2022, as per the information.
The quantity of challans in 2020 was similarly less as there were limitations on development because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Delhi Traffic Police is finding a way different ways to check and control air contamination in the city, including requirement of headings gave by High Court, Delhi High Court, Public Green Council, Commission for Air Quality Administration, Focal Contamination Control Board, Climate Division/Delhi Contamination Control Panel and Delhi government, and so on to keep up with encompassing air quality, an authority explanation said.
It is compulsory for vehicles employing in India to have substantial PUCC and for their drivers to convey a duplicate of it.
The primary reason behind this is to just permit those vehicles on the streets that are following discharge standards as managed by the focal government. The vehicles employing without legitimate PUCC are fined ₹ 10,000, including exclusion of permit for quite some time for the primary offense, the assertion said.
The expansion in the quantity of challans over the course of the years proposes a developing accentuation on controling vehicular emanations and advancing cleaner air in the city, the assertion said.
